  2. Performance cookies collect information about how visitors use the site, for instance which pages visitors go to most. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.

For example, when you comment on a post functionality cookies save your name, email address, and URL if provided to allow you to make a future comment on the site without re-entering all the data.

This site does not currently use targeting or advertising cookies. These type of cookies are used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests, limit the number of times you see an ad on a site, and share information between sites and advertisers in order to measure campaign effectiveness and calculate commissions. Should this site start using these type of cookies through the introduction of affiliate links or direct advertising, this privacy policy will be updated.

Tip: If you’d to like to delete cookies across all websites you visit, you can set your browser to do so. Visit the help pages of your web browser to find out how to do this.

Specific Data Collected

Site Visitation Tracking

Like most sites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to collect internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns, such as the number of pages visited. We use the information to find out what parts of the site are being visited and with what frequency. GA records non-personally identifiable data such as geographic location (country), device, internet browser and operating system. GA also captures IP address, but it is anonymized and the full address is not stored. This data is currently stored for 26 months. The data is processed in such a way that it does not identify specific persons. We view reports of aggregated data.

GA uses cookies to distinguish unique users. Details can be found on Google’s developers guides.

Tip: Website users who don’t want their data collected with Google Analytics can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. To opt-out of Analytics for the web, visit the Google Analytics opt-out page. Note that if you do that, statistics this site collects on number of users and pages visited will not include your visits.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Your email address is never publicly displayed. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

We use the Jetpack service to help us manage comments. It sets functionality cookies to remember the name, email address, and website you’ve entered so you need not re-enter that information when you make subsequent comments on our site. Information on Jetpack cookies can be found here.

We store personal data related to comments you’ve submitted, contact forms you’ve submitted, and subscriptions you’ve opted into on this website. The data is currently stored in an identifiable fashion: a limitation of the content management system this website is built on (WordPress).
